Britney Finally Regains Visitation Rights!

Posted by admin on 23 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

In what OK! has learned was a deal more than a week in the making, a judge has ruled that Britney Spears will once again receive visitation rights with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Under the ruling, Britney can see her boys in a "theraputic setting"--meaning, among other stipulations, that Jamie Spears and Brit's psychiatrist must be present.

Kevin Federline is reportedly on board with the commissioner's decision and is, along with lawyers for both sides, impressed at Jamie's ability to quiet the whirlwind surrounding Britney's life.

K-fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan tells OK! exclusively that today's ruling would never have happened if Jamie hadn't stepped in to stabilize his daughter.

"Obviously this wouldn’t have happened if Jamie Spears wasn’t involved but there’s much more to it than those two people being present,” Kaplan tells OK! exclusively. "Let’s just say that my partner Jim Simon and I put lots of specific terms, conditions and protections in place that go far beyond those two people being present."

So how soon will Britney get to see her boys? "Britney very, very soon will be seeing her boys again," Kaplan tell OK!. "At the moment we are waiting for the orders to be signed and faxed by the judge and assuming that we receive that tonight, visitation will happen very quickly.”

Sam Lutfi Served with Restraining Order

Posted by admin on 22 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears's pal Sam Lutfi was served Thursday with a temporary restraining order to keep him away from the troubled pop star and her family, according to court papers.

The order was sought by the temporary co-conservators of Spears's $100 million estate – her father Jamie and an attorney, who allege that Lutfi had avoided being served for three weeks.

The temporary restraining order, which forbids Lutfi from getting within 250 yards of Spears, her homes and her family's homes, alleges: "Mr. Lutfi has drugged Britney. He has cut Britney's home phone line and removed her cell phone chargers. He claims to control everything."

He was served at 11 a.m. as he left his apartment in Westside Los Angeles, say the papers filed by Jamie Spears.

At the time the restraining order was sought, Spears's family had been locked in a power struggle with Lufti, who had been her constant companion as her behavior became increasingly bizarre.

Most recently, Lutfi's name arose in court papers filed by Spears's father in a fight against an attorney claiming to represent Spears and trying to move her estate case to federal court on the grounds her civil rights are being violated. Jamie Spears said he didn't know how the attorney, Jon Eardley, got involved, but noted that Eardley has the same publicist as Lutfi.

Brit's Conservators Head Back to Court

Posted by admin on 14 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Valentine's Day is probably not the most pressing thing on Jamie Spears' and his wife Lynne Spears' minds this year. On Thursday, instead of entertaining Cupid, Jamie and his team of lawyers will be headed back to court to decide whether 26-year-old Britney Spears is able to resume some degree of power over herself.

Also likely to be present is Andrew Wallet — co-conservator, with Jamie, of Britney's estate, and Sam Ingham, a court-appointed attorney responsible for overseeing them both. Whether Britney herself will show remains to be seen. Given her track record with court appearances, the probability of her being on-hand seems unlikely.

Sources tell OK! that her presence at court tomorrow will depend on just how badly she wants some of her rights restored. As of now, Britney cannot drive her car, talk on her cell phone or see anyone she wants. She also cannot, without permission from the conservators, spend her own money, hire or fire lawyers, or leave California.

"Basically, she's grounded," a court insider tells OK!. "And dad's got the keys to the car and the batteries to the remote control. Britney's not digging it much. This is a girl who's been calling the shots, and firing anyone she doesn't agree with since the time she could drive."

The court insider continues, saying, "Going back in time, with a 10 p.m. curfew, and the adolescent position where she has to get permission from her parents so her boyfriend can come over for dinner, is not how she normally rolls, to say the least."

As for Britney's other case — her ongoing custody battle with ex-hubby Kevin Federline, the pop princess is still only allowed to talk to her sons over the phone. The question of whether her visitation rights with Sean and Jayden will be expanded won't be discussed until Feb. 19 — which, by the way, is the date her divorce lawyers, Trope & Trope will ask officially to be relieved as her counsel.

Britney planning a world tour?

Posted by admin on 12 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears is rehearsing for a new world tour.

The troubled singer, who has been training hard at Los Angeles' Millennium Dance Complex, is planning to showcase her new album Blackout with a series of international shows.

A source close to the singer told the New York Post newspaper: "Britney will be leaving the country in the next few weeks, after training in privacy for a month. She is planning a global tour."

Britney is also putting her dancing skills to good use in another way - by teaching children.

The mother-of-two voluntarily taught a class of eight children, aged from four to nine, dances including "the fish", "the swim" and "the choo-choo train" on Monday night.

A studio insider said: "When Britney first arrived she went up to each child and asked them their name and whether they liked Madonna, because that was the song they would be dancing to this evening."

Teaching routines
Britney was accompanied by an assistant in the class, and after teaching them routines, she asked them to "freestyle" their own moves.

Maya Meek, whose eight-year-old son was in the class, told America's OK! magazine: "My son didn't really know who Britney was, though he dances to all of her music. So when I told him, 'This is the lady who makes all the songs you like,' he got very excited!"

This isn't the first time 26-year-old Britney had volunteered at the complex. She often pops in to lend her skills and advice to keen dancers.

Britney Teaching Dance Lesson To Kids!

Posted by admin on 12 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Looks like I was right! Check out more details below:

For a group of L.A.-area kids with dreams of being a dancer, a lesson from a famous hoofer is a memorable experience — and when that dancer happens to be Britney Spears, it's sure to be a day they'll never forget!

And that's exactly what's happening Monday night at the Millennium Dance Studio in North Hollywood, where the recently troubled star is continuing to try to get her life back in order by doing what she does best — entertaining. Except tonight, it's not just a couple of friends or family members looking on as Brit rehearses for her upcoming video shoot — it's a group of pre-adolescent dance students.

Brit arrived at Millennium, a favorite refuge of hers, around 6pm PT on Monday, hidden from the paparazzi. She was greeted by a group of eight children ages 4-9 — and certainly more than a few star-struck parents. An eyewitness tells OK! that Britney went up to each child and asked them their name and whether they liked Madonna, because that was the song they would be dancing to this evening.

Maya Meek, whose 8 year old son is in the class, tells OK!, "He didn't really know who Britney was, though he dances to all of her music. So when I told him 'this is the lady who makes all the songs you like,' he got very excited," says Meek. "He learned about Britney through Jamie Lynn, because he's a big fan of Zoey 101."

Even though Britney could easily charge an enormous amount of cash for tonight's lesson, she's working on a volunteer basis, and it isn't the first time.

Britney has shared her years of dance experience with pre-teen hopefuls before. In the not-so-distant past, she would often pop in for surprise tutorials at Millennium.

Let's only hope that these lessons, like her regular rehearsals, become part of Brit's new career-focused routine!

UPDATE: Just before 6:30 p.m. PT, one of Britney's assitants came down to talk to the waiting mothers outside the studio, and told them that the kids were all doing "amazingly well" and that they were following every step. The assistant said Britney had a second assistant dancing behind the kids so that when they turned during their routine, they'd have someone behind them to follow.

Britney Finally Returns Home

Posted by admin on 07 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Almost 12 hours after being released from her court-ordered hospitalization, troubled pop star Britney Spears finally returned to her home behind the gates of her private community. And what had at first appeared to be headed for another classic Britney night of hotel-hopping and driving aimlessly until sunrise was brought to a quiet end after the intervention of her father.

Shortly before 9:oopm on Wednesday a weary-looking Jamie Spears entered the lobby of the Beverly Hills Hotel, where his daughter was holed up in a room on the second floor with her boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib. In his hands, Jamie was clenching a pile of legal documents that he was attempting to get the hotel staff to look at.

Thirty minutes later, with the assistance of hotel security and the LAPD, Jamie foud himself face to face with the daughter who reportedly wants nothing to do with him. And yet somehow he was able to convince Brit to ultimately return to her home.

It's possible that, as her court-appointed conservator, Jamie was able to tug on her pursestrings to make her realize that she can't afford expensive four-star hotel rooms without his approval. Regardless, insiders tell OK! that Brit and Adnan were driven to a restaurant in the San Fernando Valley and then to her home in The Summit where she and Adnan are currently staying with Jamie and Britney's mom Lynne.

Sources also tell OK! that Jamie and Britney's mom Lynne are likely to head to court as early as Thursday to ask the judge to strengthen the existing conservatorship. It is believed that Brit met with lawyer Adam Streisand shortly after being released from the hospital today and that Streisand, who attempted unsuccesfully earlier this week to present himself as Brit's lawyer, may once again attempt to involve himself in the case.

OK! will be on hand at the courthouse tomorrow to bring you any breaking news.

Why Britney Spears Was Released Early

Posted by admin on 07 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears was released early from UCLA Medical Center's psych ward because a court representative found "no just cause" for the hold, a source tells PEOPLE.

The doctor overseeing Spears's care had wanted her to stay, (as did her parents), but the decision was overridden by the court representative, the source said.

The source said that the doctor who was vetoed was not Spears's psychiatrist Dr. Deborah Nadel, but another attending doctor at UCLA. Once Nadel issued the singer's 72-hour hold at UCLA, Nadel was not involved in Spears's hospitalization, the source said.

The decision followed regular procedure for any patient on a 14-day hold.

The procedure calls for a hearing at the hospital to find out whether the hold is justified. The rep for the court, called a "hearing referee" – who is usually a lawyer – interviews the patient and doctor to determine if there's "just cause" for detainment.

"This is when law and medicine collide," says attorney Terry K. Wasserman, who's not involved in the Spears matter, "when a lawyer can override a doctor's opinion."

Britney Back In Adnan's Arms — For Now

Posted by admin on 07 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Around 4:40pm PT, a little over an hour after Britney Spears and her caravan of paparazzi pulled into the Beverly Hills Hotel, the troubled singer's boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib, was spotted arriving at the posh palace in his Mercedes convertible and being rushed up to Britney's room by security guards.

Adnan's arrival puts to rest, for the moment at least, rumors that Brit was planning on meeting her "friend" Sam Lutfi at the hotel. Last Friday, a restraining order was issued against Sam, who claims to control all aspects of Britney's life, forbidding him from having any contact with the singer.

UPDATE: At 4:47pm PT, six LAPD officers arrived at the hotel. According to sources, the police are awaiting the arrival of Britney's parents with the intention of taking the pop star back to the hospital.

UPDATE: At 5:05pm PT, an LAPD officer confirmed to OK! that Britney was secreted out of the Beverly Hills Hotel in Adnan's car. While there is much speculation that she will be returning to the hospital tonight, the police would neither confirm nor deny this rumor. Minutes later, the pair were spotted driving along Santa Monica Blvd.

UPDATE: Around 5:20, Britney and Adnan arrived at a medical building off Santa Monica Blvd. in Century City.

Stay tuned!

Jamie To Live With Britney

Posted by admin on 07 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Now that Britney Spears has been released from the UCLA Medical Center psych ward, her father is coming to live with her, Access Hollywood has exclusively learned.

A source close to the family told Access that Jamie will move in with his daughter. He will monitor her along with another person who will act as a guardian/sobriety type of coach, the source revealed.

“[They will] try to keep her calm,” the source said of Jamie and the as yet unnamed guardian.

Jamie will also work to ensure that the people in Britney’s recent inner circle – including her self-proclaimed “manager,” Sam Lutfi and paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib stay away from the star.

As previously reported on Access Hollywood.com, the conservators over Britney, including Jamie, requested and were granted a temporary restraining order against Sam Lutfi on behalf of his daughter, Britney and the Spears family.

Britney Leaves Hospital

Posted by admin on 07 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Pop singer Britney Spears was released from a psychiatric ward at the UCLA Medical Center today after nearly a week of treatment.

It was unclear where she was going, but sources said she might head to one of her homes before seeking additional treatment.

Unlike the spectacle surrounding her trip to the Westwood medical facility last week, she slipped out with relatively little fanfare. A private security detail escorted her in contrast to last week when more than a dozen Los Angeles police officers escorted Spears to the hospital via motorcade.

The LAPD said they took that step after increasingly aggressive tactics by paparazzi have forced them to take costly precautions. Authorities said she was headed home before seeking additional treatments.

Her release comes after Spears' mother, in court documents, said her daughter's self-described friend and manager exerted near-total control over the singer, cutting her phone lines, taking away her cellphone chargers, disabling her vehicles and grinding up pills to place in her food. Spears' mother alleges in a restraining order against the man.

Spears' mother made the allegations in a request for a restraining order against the manager, Sam Lutfi. The restraining order, approved Friday and released by the court Tuesday, bars Lutfi from coming within 250 yards of the singer.

Spears' father and an attorney have been granted temporary conservatorship over Spears and her estate. According to sources, a grand theft report was filed by Spears' father, Jamie Spears, after the singer was taken to the UCLA hospital last week.

The grand theft report alleges that paintings, jewelry and other valuables were taken from his daughter's Coldwater Canyon home. A limited number of people had access to the home in that period, sources said.

Sam Lutfi Accused of Drugging Britney

Posted by admin on 06 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

A restraining order aimed at Britney Spears' sometimes manager Sam Lutfi alleges that he took over her life and finances, drugged her and controlled the paparazzi who pursued her for months.

The order, based on a lengthy declaration from Spears' mother, Lynne, says that Spears met Lutfi in October 2007 and "Mr. Lutfi has essentially moved into Britney's home and has purported to take control of her life, home and finances."

The documents released by the court Tuesday ordered him to stay away from her and stop harassing. In a section of the order that detailed previous harassment, Lynne Spears said "Mr. Lutfi drugged Britney, he has cut Britney's home phone lines and removed her cell phone chargers. He yells at her. He claims to control everything — Britney's business manager, her attorneys and the security guards at the gate."

Spears' father has been granted control of her finances until Valentine's Day by a judge who also barred the troubled pop star from contacting Lutfi.

Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz also appointed a physician Monday to evaluate whether Spears, who is in a psychiatric ward, is competent to make decisions.

Her father, James Spears, and an attorney were granted conservatorship last week after the 26-year-old was hospitalized for the second time in two months following increasingly bizarre behavior.

The commissioner extended that conservatorship until Feb. 14. It allows Spears' father, and attorney Andrew Wallet, to make decisions involving the singer's assets and even who enters her home.

The commissioner also tried to further distance Spears from Lutfi, who sometimes spoke on her behalf and had been seen escorting her about town.

Spears was ordered to have no contact with him by phone, texting, or any other means.

The commissioner extended a restraining order against Lutfi that was issued last week, although court spokesman Allan Parachini said the original order had not yet been served.

In a Monday text message to The Associated Press, Lutfi said: "I have no problems with anyone writing anything negative against me. My image is not of concern, hers is."

A police motorcade helped shepherd Spears to UCLA Medical Center last Thursday for a 72-hour mental evaluation. She was originally to be released Sunday but doctors and a ward medical officer decided to keep her for two more weeks. They cited a state law that allows holding patients for treatment if they are found to be gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others.

The question of Spears' competency came up again Monday as an attorney, Adam Streisand, unsuccessfully argued that the pop star told him by phone that she wanted her father removed as conservator.

"She has expressed to me very strongly (her wish) that her father not be the conservator," Streisand said. "There has been an estrangement for quite some time. With him as conservator, that is causing her more agitation and more distress."

Streisand, who placed Spears' estate assets at $40 million or more, also said he believed he had been authorized to represent Spears.

But court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham said he interviewed Spears on Sunday at the hospital and determined she didn't understand the court proceedings, and "she lacks the capacity to retain counsel."

Attorney Vivian Thoreen, who represents Spears' father, said her client should continue to be conservator because "his daughter is in great distress."

"He's not here to take over her assets," Thoreen said. "He's here to get her medical help. He's here to take over while she's healing."

Court: Britney's Dad Stays in Control – for Now

Posted by admin on 05 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears's father and a lawyer will remain in control of the singer's affairs, including her $40 million fortune, a court ruled Monday.

Jamie Spears will remain co-conservator of his daughter's estate until Feb. 14, a commissioner ruled, despite a lawyer's claims Britney Spears had a "strong desire" against her father's temporary oversight.

The decision came in a hearing in which attorney Adam Streisand, who asserted he was hired by Britney Spears, argued that Jamie Spears's conservatorship "would only cause further distress, agitation and estrangement."

In addition, Streisand argued that co-temporary conservator Andrew Wallet "simply doesn't have the knowledge" to manage Spears's vast estate, he said in court. It was Streisand who valued the estate at $40 million.

Streisand, who's reportedly related to the singer of the same name, instead suggested that Northern Trust Bank be named as the temporary guardian of her wealth.

But following the hearing, Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled that Jamie Spears and Wallet would remain as co-conservators, a court spokesman said.

"The commissioner felt Mr. Streisand had no standing to represent Ms. Spears," the spokesman added.

The lawyers for Jamie Spears began the session with an opening statement asserting that the father had no interest in taking her wealth, but rather watching over it until his daughter recovers, with the eventual hope she's reunited with her children.

Wallet vehemently argued that the court be shown proof that Britney Spears was of sound mind to hire Streisand.

Spears 'Lacks the Capacity' to Hire a Lawyer
A court-appointed lawyer, Samuel Ingham, for Britney Spears was also present, and testified that he met with her at the hospital Sunday for 15 minutes.

He added that in his opinion the pop star "does not understand the nature of these proceedings" or their impact on her future. He added, "I think she lacks the capacity" to hire a private lawyer.

It was also revealed by Jamie Spears's attorneys that despite a restraining order issued Friday, Britney pal Sam Lutfi had spoken to her Sunday on the telephone.

The father's lawyers expressed difficulty in subpoenaing Lutfi with the order, saying he would not answer the door when a person came to serve him recently.

By the hearing's end, the court ordered Spears to have no contact, direct or indirect, by phone, email, text message or any other means with Lutfi, a court spokesman said, and an attempt to serve Lutfi with a revised restraining order would occur.

In addition, a court-ordered physician will evaluate the singer's "competence to make her own decisions" and to report back on Feb. 13.

Brit's New Lawyer Related To Barbra Streisand

Posted by admin on 05 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

TMZ has learned Britney's new lawyer, Adam Streisand, is related to Babs herself, and he's not afraid to name drop!

Adam is Barbra's second cousin, though he's said publicly said they don't speak and that she's a very private person.

But we're told in private, Adam's quite willing to talk about the lineage.

Adam has been brought in by Trope and Trope to challenge Brit's conservatorship -- in particular, the appointment of Brit's dad, Jamie.

Love-Hate Relationship With Daddy

Posted by admin on 05 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears has expressed hatred towards her father -- that, we know. Yet sources say today she asked that both of her parents be at her bedside. And that could create problems for the Trope firm when they go to court tomorrow and ask Jamie be 86'd as conservator.

Britney is bipolar and has wild mood swings. She can love someone and hate them in the same hour. So just because she told Trope lawyers this weekend that she hates her dad -- it may not be enough to convince the Commish.

But here's what Trope may have going for it. Britney has expressed deep animus toward her dad for a long time and to many people. We know the Trope firm is attempting to put together an arsenal of witnesses who will try and convince the Commissioner that the hatred and distrust toward her dad is consistent over time.

A new contender has entered the Britney Spears circus, and it's όber-celebrity lawyer Blair Berk.

E! News has learned exclusively that the Spears clan has hired the legal eagle to serve as the litigator in its case to get conservatorship—a drastic move to wrest control of Britney's financial, legal and medical affairs.

A source close to the case tells E! News that Berk has recently represented Lindsay Lohan in her DUI case—she's the one who took control and actually drove LiLo to Promises—as well as Reese Witherspoon and Halle Berry, among others.

"She is known as a bulldog," says the source.

Britney's stay will be extended

It's not a done deal, but expect that sometime tonight, papers will be signed at UCLA extending Britney Spears' stay at the psych ward -- by 14 days. It's an internal process -- done without a court order. But we're told it will indeed happen, and that's not surprising given her mental health. As we first reported, Britney's been diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder.

The ward Britney is in is considered one of the best in the nation for the treatment she is receiving.

Robbery reported at Britney's Beverly Hills home

Posted by admin on 03 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

UsMagazine.com: The Los Angeles Police Department was called to the Beverly Hills home of Britney Spears Friday after her parents discovered valuable possessions belonging to the singer were missing, a source close to the singer tells Usmagazine.com.

The source says Spears' father Jamie and mother Lynne were "shocked" to find that the valuable items "had been stolen" after they returned to the house following yesterday's emergency hearing where Jamie won legal control over his daughter.

They then called police and filed a report.

Spears' parents believe that the items were stolen after their daughter was taken to the UCLA Medical Center early Thursday morning.

Los Angeles Police officer Alex Martinez confirmed to Us that police had responded to a call at Spears' house, but did not know what had transpired.

"The report is being processed through our system," he said. "We do not have access to it."

At Friday's hearing, Jamie won temporary legal control over his daughter. He also has full control of her residence and can legally remove anyone who is staying there until the next hearing, on Monday.

A 21-day civil harassment restraining order was also granted against Sam Lutfi, who has been accusing Jamie and Lynne of poor parenting.

Ordinance: Paparazzi to stay several feet away from celebs

Posted by admin on 03 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Los Angeles city councilman wants a buffer zone between celebrities and paparazzi.

A proposed ordinance would require photographers to stay several feet away from celebrities to create a "personal safety zone." The zone would have to be wide enough to allow cars and people to pass safely.

About a month ago when Britney Spears was first taken from her home by paramedics, there was a frenzy of photographers who crowded and chased the ambulance. Thursday, police vehicles and a helicopter provided an escort as the young pop star was again taken to a psychiatric hospital, reportedly for an evaluation. Councilman Dennis Zine says the paparazzi problem has become an "outrageous" danger to the public. And he says if something's not done about it, somebody's going to get seriously hurt.

Britney Goes Ballistic in Psych Ward

Posted by admin on 02 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Minutes ago, Britney Spears made two calls at the UCLA Psych Ward and went crazy on the phone after learning that her dad is now the conservator of her estate.

In a heavy British accent, a ballistic Brit screamed (about her parents), "I'm so sick of all of this they can have the God Damn house and stick it up their f**king asses. Actually, no they can't."

Brit, who sounded drugged up, was furious that her dad became a conservator of her estate. She was screaming at the top of her lungs, at times impossible to understand. At one point she screamed, "Nobody's taking my house. Who is my family?"

Britney said she did not want her parents near her home and at one point said she would go to court to fight them.

She is under the impression she's getting out of the hospital tonight.

Sam Lutfi on Britney Spears: "Her Family Is Crazy"

Posted by admin on 02 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears’ pal Sam Lutfi says the singer’s mental problems stem from her parents, Lynne and Jamie.

“Oh boy, her family is crazy!” Lutfi told Usmagazine.com in a telephone interview Thursday, the same day the singer was taken to UCLA Medical Center. On Friday, Spears' parents hit L.A. Superior Court to seek to control their daughter's medical treatments.

“It's funny because that's what the doctors say when they meet the family," he added. "They always come back and say, ‘You know, [her problems] are inherited, right?’

“It’s just so sad. It's shared equally from both of her parents.”

He told Us the singer doesn’t “trust anything that her family says? Not a g----n thing.”

He said they have tried to stage multiple interventions and that Thursday's move was “at least their fourth” attempt.

When the singer heard Lynne had arrived Sunday night, Lutfi said Britney asked him, ‘Is my mom really here?’ I said, ‘Yeah, she's here.’ And she's like, ‘Oh great, you know they're up to something.’

“They show up to the house like hillbillies, texting me,” Lutfi continued. “I find out that they’re outside, and they go, ‘You better let me in the gate, you ass.’ So I go, to Britney, ‘Your parents are here, let them come in and yell at you and scream at you. If anything else goes on, I'll throw you in my car and take you out of here.’ She said, ‘OK, fine, baby.’

“I let them in. Instead of going to see how Britney is, they come bouncing through the doors. They scream at me, ‘Why the f---k are you talking to Barbara Walters?’ I swear to God that's all they were saying.

“The dad pushed me in the chest and said, ‘Get the f—k out of here.’

“The dad gave up and then the mom tried to talk to her, but Lynne was like, ‘I gotta get my beauty sleep, I gotta get my nails done, I gotta do my hair.’ It was just so sick. We made the mom stay.”

Lutfi said the singer suffers from “mixed state bipolar” and has had it for “roughly five years.” (A person suffering from “mixed state bipolar” experiences symptoms of mania and depression at the same time.)

He said he has told the singer, "Britney, do you see why people think you are crazy? Look at your mother and look"

Britney's Father Granted Legal Control Over Daughter's Affairs

Posted by admin on 02 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears's father is taking control.

Jamie Spears, accompanied by ex-wife Lynne, was granted temporary legal control over their daughter in an emergency court hearing Friday – a move that gives her dad new power over her hospital visitors and could keep her close pal Sam Lutfi at bay.

Commissioner Reva Goetz stated that she found Jamie's petition for conservatorship to be in the singer's "best interest."

The court also granted Jamie the authority to "prosecute any civil harassment restraining orders." Court rep Allan Parachini confirmed that Britney's close confidant, Sam Lutfi, "is the subject of a civil restraining order," but gave no further details.

The powers granted to Jamie Spears, which last until a Monday hearing, allow him to restrict and limit visitors to his daughter (who remains hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center), as well as to employ security guards to protect her.

Access to Medical Records
Jamie Spears also gets access to Spears's medical records and has control over her medical treatment, Commissioner Goetz said in court. (However, legal experts say psychiatric treatment is not included in these powers.)

Goetz also allowed temporary control over Spears's finances, in addition to securing her residence, changing its locks, and vacating any people living there.

Jamie and Lynne Spears, who appeared solemn throughout the hearing, seemed relieved by the ruling. The former couple left the courtroom without commenting to reporters.

Earlier in the day, Lutfi, who had been locked in a battle with the singer's parents, spoke out against Britney's parents and their arrival in court. "I object to this. Britney is fully capable of handling her own finances. Her doctors are capable of handling her health care," he told PEOPLE. "You'd think in a time like this, the family would be at the hospital taking care of their daughter, rather than fighting for her money. How sad."

Source: K-Fed Feels Hospital 'Best Place' for Britney

Posted by admin on 01 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Kevin Federline is "worried" about Britney Spears and feels that the psychiatric hospital is the best place for her right now, a source tells PEOPLE.

Federline "doesn't want her to get out until she's made progress," the source close to Federline says. "This is obviously going to help her in the end – later, much later."

The source adds: "He's worried. ... He doesn't even know what's going to happen next."

Federline, 29, was not directly involved in the latest events, "but he was aware of what was happening," says another source, a friend of Federline's.

Unlike the first time Spears was sent to the hospital, the children were with Federline, the friend says.

"Kevin legitimately wants Britney to get better. He wants her to be in their sons' lives. He wants them to have a loving relationship. He wants her to get healthy so she can be the mother they need and deserve," says the friend.

This is the second trip to a hospital this month for Spears. On Jan. 4, she was forced into the hospital following a tense custody standoff involving sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. A court commissioner has since stripped Spears of visitation privileges.

A third source close to Federline says that getting medical help again for Spears, 26, "has been planned for a long time. Her family is behind this."

Sam Lashes Out At Lynne: She doesn't care about Britney!

Posted by admin on 01 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Sam Lutfi, Britney Spears' close friend and self-proclaimed "manager," is lashing out this morning at Lynne Spears while speaking exclusively to Access Hollywood.

When Sam was asked how he and Lynne Spears were getting along following Britney's second hospitalization, he sounded off, saying he does not think Lynne cares about Britney.

"No. Her mother is not someone who cares about her daughter, she's only concerned with herself. Sad but true. She was too busy getting a manicure to come over yesterday, despite her daughters (sic) pleas. Sad, very sad," Sam wrote to Access in a text message.

Lutfi was present outside of Britney's Studio City home when she was taken away for hospitalization Thursday morning. He was also seen trying to gain admission to UCLA Medical Center, although Lynne reportedly denied him visitation rights.

Two night's ago, Spears had a verbal altercation with Lutfi — lashing out at him in full view of the cameras.

"Will you please get out?" Spears said. "I don’t care about them right now. I want to drive my ****ing car!"

Spears offered the expletive-filled rant in her British accent as she sat in the passenger seat. Lutfi agreed to Spears' demands and let her take the wheel.

Lynne to take Britney back home after hospitalization

Posted by admin on 01 Feb 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Britney Spears’ mother, Lynne, is planning to try and take her daughter home to Louisiana.

Following last night’s intervention and subsequent hospitalization, Lynne has decided that she is taking Britney out of L.A. as soon as she’s released from UCLA Medical Center. “Lynne is extremely concerned for her daughter and would like to take Britney back home to Louisiana and get her out of Hollywood,” Britney’s lawyer Michael Flanagan told PageSix.com exclusively.

Lynne feels that the biggest problem facing Britney's recovery is the circle of friends she’s become involved with and Lynne desperately wants to extricate her daughter from that. “Brit has an amazing support system in Louisiana,” Flanagan says, reinforcing the belief that Britney simply can't get the help she needs while she remains in L.A. “Lynn was holding up reasonably well, but her first priority and concern right now is with her daughter and helping her through this very tough situation that she is in.”

But as we’ve seen with Brit before, until she decides to make a change there is nothing anyone — not even her mother — can do to force her hand.

Sam Tells All

Posted by admin on 31 Jan 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

The papz fromX17 text messaged with Sam. Heres his side of the story:

X17: u there?

Sam: I'm in a room with her now. Doctor refuses to get any info from Adnan or the family. They've requested my presence.

X17: so the doc's requested u so u could give her recent medical history?

Sam: Yes.

X17: Is Lynne pissed at you? Why is Adnan there?

Sam: Lynne didn't want to go along with the doctor trying to get her help 'case she was worried Britney would blame her for it. Britney learned that Lynne has been in contact with Adnan these past few weeks and was furious over that ... Britney was suffering a mental breakdown. She's been under the care of Deborah Nadel this past week. After today's visit, the doctor felt Britney needed to be hopitalized.

X17: So Nadel suggested the hospitalization?

Sam: Yes, Deborah did.

X17: Is Brit going to stay at UCLA for a while?

Sam: A few days at least.

X17: Was she asleep when they brought her in? Did she go willingly?

Sam: Wasn't asleep. Went willingly.

X17: Why did her mom rush to the house? Who called her? Seemed like an emergency. Did the doc really think Brit would hurt herself?

Sam: No, doc was concerned more about the driving. Not suicide.

X17: And why was she not sleeping the past two days? A manic episode?

Sam: Yes.

Treatment Underway

Posted by admin on 31 Jan 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ a L.A. County Superior Court judge has just signed a "5150," meaning Britney Spears is on a three-day psychiatric hold at the UCLA Medical Center.

We're told there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days. We've also learned there have been several parallel attempts to get Britney on a 5150. Her lawyers, Anne Kiley and Tara Scott, secured a new psychiatrist late last week -- he's the one who triggered the 5150 last night.

Whether Sam or her parents are the ones that will be making the medical decisions is still to be determined, another heated topic between the Spears clan.

UPDATE: TMZ has learned Britney's parents have won round one in the tug of war with Sam Lutfi. We're told the doctors at UCLA are now "fully cooperating" with the parents in the treatment of Britney Spears, however, the war probably is not over until a judge signs an order as to who has control.

Britney Update: Custody Stays The Same

Posted by admin on 24 Jan 2008 • 0 Comment(s)

It's been determined that the custody arrangement between BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE remains the same, which is that Britney receives no visitation and full legal and physical custody belongs to Kevin.

Meanwhile, earlier today Britney arrived to the courthouse but left less than an hour later, reportedly not ever reaching the courtroom. According to the Associated Press, Commissioner SCOTT GORDON called the case at 9:15 a.m. and allowed Britney's lawyer to find her client. She appeared 20 minutes later and Gordon called the matter again. Britney's lawyer said her client was not present and didn't know if she would be present. Kevin was then sworn in as a witness and the courtoom was cleared of spectators.

Britney's next scheduled court date is February 4th.
